In addition to his drumming career, Joshua is an accomplished author and journalist with more than 20 books to his credit. He has written numerous acclaimed travel and outdoor guidebooks, including Hiking South Carolina for Falcon Guides, and many titles primarily for Hachette Book Group’s Moon Handbooks imprint, such as:

Earlier in his writing career, he worked as a staff writer for The Pensacola News Journal (Gannett) and contributed features to magazines such as SAIL, Times of the Islands, Dance Spirit, Bonito and Estero Magazine, and others. He has published hundreds of articles online for sites including Trails.com, Ehow, and USA Today Travel.

Joshua is currently in the process of publishing several new books focused on drumming—covering technique, instruction, and the life of a working musician—to complement his teaching performing, recording, and share his decades of insights with a wider audience.
